Job Description

About the Role

ConneXtions Support Workers direct participant support in line with our Values and Vision, by walking alongside participants in their individual journeys, empowering and supporting capacity building outcomes to assist participants to reach personal goals and outcomes, whilst ensuring their active participation as valued member of the communities in which they live. 

We are currently seeking experienced disability support workers for a SIL home in Wodonga, providing around the clock support, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will be a minimum of 8 hours, with regular rosters. 

 Common day to day responsibilities and duties of the position may include (but are not limited to):

  • Personal Care (including manual handling)
  • Catheter care
  • Community access
  • Travel to appointments using wheelchair accessible van
  • At home support
  • General cleaning
  • House duties incl washing, ironing, cooking 
  • Must be available to do a variety of shifts, including overnight and awake shifts. 

Desired Skills and Experience

Ideally you will have, or be working towards, a Certificate III Individual Support or Certificate IV in Disability or have willingness to obtain and complete training as requested. You will be driven by a desire to help our participants achieve their goals. You will be passionate about having a positive impact and supporting people with disabilities to reach their full potential.

 

As a condition of employment, you are required to obtain and maintain compliance with:

  • NDIS Screening Check
  • Up to Date COVID -19 Vaccinations and health requirements recommended by the Department of Health
  • Current First Aid Certificate including CPR.
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Access to a registered motor vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Completion of all required Mandatory training as set by Connextions, including but not limited to:
  • Zero Tolerance
  • Infection prevention and control for Covid 19
  • Code of Conduct
  • Safe Food Handling
  • Manual handling
